Locally grown foods are easier to buy now than they’ve been for decades. Before industrial agriculture and our colossal global infrastructure, communities relied on local farms and gardens to supply most of their food. Today, the popularity of locally grown foods is returning with vigor, sprouting progressive “Farm to Table” and “Local Food” movements in neighborhoods, towns and cities across the country. Farmers markets, community supported agriculture (CSAs), gardening cooperatives and other local food sources are planting the seeds of renewal that have greatly expanded the quantity, quality and variety of locally grown produce.
